CNN (6/23, Prior) reports that research suggests “current belly size could be a key indicator in whether” older adults “develop dementia within the next decade or two,” with the risk “particularly high” for women. Researchers found that “for women in later adulthood, above average belly fat can lead to a 39% increased risk of dementia within 15 years compared with those who have a normal waist circumference.” The findings were published in the International Journal of Epidemiology.  (SOURCE: APA Headlines)
