Healio (12/30, Gramigna) reports, “Electroconvulsive therapy [ECT] was a significantly effective treatment option for severe depressive disorder,” investigators concluded in a study that included “a sample of 73 individuals with a major depressive episode per DSM-5 criteria who were treated twice weekly with ECT.” The findings were published online Dec. 15 in the Journal of Clinical Psychiatry.
