Medscape (3/26, Yasgur, Subscription Publication) reports, “There appears to be no causal link between smoking and dementia,” researchers concluded after following “over 500 senior adults for an average of 11 years, analyzing the potential association between smoking and dementia and adjusting for the competing risk of death without dementia.” The study did find that “smoking was associated with earlier death,” however. The findings were published online March 2 in the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease.  (SOURCE: APA Headlines)
