Medscape (7/25, Focht, Subscription Publication) reports investigators “have found a genetic correlation between individuals with gastrointestinal tract (GIT) disorders and Alzheimer’s disease (AD).” After “analyzing years of genetic data from AD studies and similar data from six GIT disorders,” Australian investigators “found that many disease-specific genes shared the same loci, or chromosomal location, in each group.” The findings were published online in the journal Communications Biology.
