The New York Times (10/23, Bakalar) reports researchers found that “trans fatty acids, known to increase the risk for heart disease, stroke and diabetes, have now been linked to an increased risk for dementia.” The findings were published in Neurology. CNN (10/23, Lamotte) reports on its website that “people with higher levels of trans fats in their blood may be 50% to 75% more likely to develop Alzheimer’s disease or dementia from any cause, according to” the study.  (SOURCE: APA Headlines)
